I just got back from an open call audition for a feature film… sorry can’t say what it was. It was a rather frustrating experience since I had already built the character in my head the way I saw it through the description given. However, when in the audition room I was given a totally different description for that character.
Needless to say, I had to revamp my entire audition to fit the way the director wanted it. It would have been helpful if they would have given their description BEFORE having people audition.
I guess that’s why they call it a “cold read”.
